AMHS Engineer

About the role

The AMHS Engineer will join the Automation & Systems (AMHS & Support) department to ensure reliable material handling in a semiconductor clean‑room environment. You will work closely with production, engineering and vendor teams to keep the automated transport system running at peak performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor AMHS performance and maintain maximum uptime.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software failures.
• Provide technical support to operations during AMHS incidents.
• Develop and execute preventive‑maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate system upgrades, migrations and new equipment installations with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and replace critical components.
• Analyze system data to identify trends, bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Support layout changes and material‑flow improvements with manufacturing and planning teams.
• Lead or support AMHS projects such as capacity expansion and software updates.
• Ensure documentation, safety and quality compliance.
• Collaborate with IT, Equipment Engineering and Facilities for system integration.
• Train technicians and operators on system usage and troubleshooting.
• Follow all safety protocols, including work at height.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience with AMHS in a manufacturing or automation environment (e.g., semiconductor fab, warehouse automation).
• Familiarity with OEM systems such as Muratec, Daifuku or SSI Schaefer is a plus.
• Knowledge of MCS, PLCs, industrial control systems and automation protocols (e.g., SECS/GEM).
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work at height using ladders, mobile platforms and safety harnesses.
• Willingness to work independently or in a team on standard or swing shifts.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and clean‑room AMHS (OHT, stockers, buffer systems) is advantageous.
