Facilities Gas & Chemical Engineer (Senior)

About the role

SSMC is seeking a Facilities Gas & Chemical Engineer to join its Gas & Chemical Distribution team. The role focuses on ensuring continuous, reliable supply of gas and chemical utilities for semiconductor manufacturing, while maintaining high performance and compliance with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide facilities support for gas and chemical distribution systems to meet performance specifications.
• Develop, implement, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Perform repair, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis to restore systems quickly.
• Create and manage reporting and tracking systems for system performance and capacity usage.
• Recommend and execute improvement or enhancement projects.
• Monitor utility consumption and collaborate on reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and codes of practice.
• Provide guidance and training to colleagues on system operation.
• Maintain accurate plant histories, drawings, and documentation.
• Evaluate and source spares, consumables, and resources for daily operations.
• Supervise projects related to gas and chemical facilities.

Required profile

• Master’s or degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2‑5 years of experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical or petrochemical industries.
• Hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of gas or chemical distribution systems.
• Ability to lead improvement projects and work effectively in a team.
• Strong sense of responsibility and a positive learning attitude.
