Analog Layout Intern (Master's Degree)

About the role

Marvell's Analog Mixed Signal Layout team in Singapore is looking for an intern with a Master's degree to gain hands-on experience developing integrated circuit layouts for high-speed connectivity and broadband analog applications. You will work alongside experienced engineers, learning how circuit designs are turned into physical layouts that meet performance, area and reliability requirements, and may support blocks such as high-speed interfaces, ADCs and DACs, PLLs and clock circuits.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and apply analog layout fundamentals such as device matching, symmetry, floor planning, routing and parasitic awareness.
• Assist with the layout of analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Use industry-standard layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and/or Synopsys Custom Compiler.
• Perform DRC and LVS verification with tools such as Siemens Calibre and help resolve issues with mentor support.
• Take part in layout reviews and document your work while collaborating with local and overseas team members.
• Contribute to scripting or automation tasks where applicable to improve layout efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor devices, CMOS technology and electronic circuits.
• Strong interest in analog and mixed-signal IC design and physical layout.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks.
• Good English communication skills and teamwork ability.

Required skills

• Helpful but not required: coursework or projects in analog circuits, VLSI or IC design.
• Helpful but not required: familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Custom Compiler or physical verification tools.
• Helpful but not required: basic knowledge of Linux and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl or SKILL.
