Assistant Cook

About the role

The Assistant Cook supports the kitchen team by keeping the work area clean, preparing ingredients, and ensuring the Cook has everything needed for smooth operations. This full‑time position is islandwide in Singapore and offers the chance to work in a dynamic culinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with food preparation tasks such as cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
• Clean and sanitise food preparation areas in line with hygiene and health‑safety standards.
• Wash, disinfect, and store cooking utensils and equipment properly.
• Buy, weigh, and store ingredients and supplies.
• Operate kitchen appliances and tools, including cutters, knives, mixers, and ovens.
• Manage inventory, unload deliveries, and organise the storeroom.
• Maintain clean workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout the shift.
• Contribute to menu development and improvisation of existing dishes.
• Monitor kitchen expenses, food costs, and staffing within budget limits.

Required profile

• Ability to cook North Indian cuisine.
• Willingness to work shift schedules.
• Professional attitude and reliability.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques (cutting, chopping, peeling).
• Knife handling and safe operation.
• Operating kitchen appliances such as mixers, ovens, and cutters.
