Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director – Legal

About the role

The Legal Division of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is seeking an experienced legal professional to serve as Assistant Director or Senior Assistant Director. You will provide comprehensive in‑house legal services that support CAAS’s statutory functions and strategic objectives across aviation safety, regulation, and infrastructure development.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on the development, implementation and amendment of legislation and regulatory frameworks relevant to CAAS.
• Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders on operational, policy and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, procurement agreements and other commercial documents.
• Handle land and property issues, including leases and conveyancing for airport projects.
• Support regulatory enforcement, investigations and prosecution actions.
• Advise on international and cross‑border aviation agreements.
• Offer counsel on risk management, insurance and governance matters.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer under the Legal Profession Act 1966.
• 8–12 years of relevant legal experience in private practice, in‑house, or the public sector.
• Strong analytical, research and drafting abilities.
• Proven capacity to manage diverse legal matters in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with senior stakeholders.
