Assistant Professor – Biostatistics & Modelling

About the role

The National University of Singapore’s Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health is seeking one or more tenure‑track Assistant Professors to join its Biostatistics and Modelling Domain. The role focuses on developing an independent research programme that applies statistical methods to public‑health challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead an independent, internationally recognised research agenda in biostatistics and modelling.
• Provide statistical support and methodological expertise for multidisciplinary collaborative projects.
• Design, deliver and assess undergraduate and graduate public‑health courses.
• Supervise and mentor graduate students, including thesis guidance.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology or a closely related discipline.
• Strong post‑doctoral research record with publications in peer‑reviewed international journals.
• Demonstrated ability to secure independent research funding.
• Experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and culturally diverse teams.

Required skills

• Advanced statistical methodology and modelling techniques.
• Experience applying statistical methods to health‑related research (e.g., cancer, nutrition, epidemiology).
