Associate General Counsel – IP Lead (Singapore)

About the role

The Associate General Counsel, IP Lead, will be based in Singapore and serve as the senior legal advisor for intellectual property across the Asia‑Pacific region. The role combines strategic IP planning with hands‑on brand protection, ensuring the company’s innovations and trademarks are safeguarded while supporting commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional IP strategy, portfolio protection and enforcement across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee trademark, copyright, domain name, trade secret, licensing and brand enforcement matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate IP‑related commercial agreements, including licensing, technology and distribution contracts.
• Manage IP disputes, oppositions, cancellations and litigation, balancing risk, cost and business priorities.
• Partner with product, marketing, commercial and supply‑chain teams to identify IP risks and provide pragmatic legal guidance.
• Supervise external counsel and develop regional legal talent to ensure high‑quality support.
• Support strategic transactions such as partnerships, market expansions and corporate initiatives with IP‑focused counsel.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognised institution and admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
• Typically 15+ years of experience in IP law, with a strong track record in trademark, copyright and brand protection.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex regional matters.
• Excellent commercial acumen and ability to align legal advice with business objectives.
