AWS Cloud Migration Engineer

About the role

The NETS Group, a payments services group operating Singapore's national debit scheme, is hiring an AWS Cloud Migration Engineer in Braddell. The role covers planning and executing on-premise to AWS migrations of servers, applications and databases, setting up AWS environments and automating infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute on-prem to AWS migrations of servers, applications and databases, using AWS MGN for lift-and-shift migrations and AWS DMS and SCT for database migrations, including heterogeneous ones such as Oracle/SQL Server to Aurora/RDS.
• Perform application and dependency discovery, migration assessments and wave planning, and define rehost, re-platform or refactor strategies.
• Develop and run migration runbooks, including cutover, validation and rollback plans, and carry out migration rehearsals for production cutover with minimal business impact.
• Design AWS landing zones and set up projects with best-practice networking, security and governance, configuring VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, VPN and Direct Connect.
• Set up IAM roles and policies following least privilege principles.
• Build and manage infrastructure with Terraform, automate deployments with CI/CD pipelines and create reusable templates.
• Validate migrated workloads for performance, data integrity and functionality, monitor replication lag and data consistency, and optimise resources for performance and cost.
• Collaborate with application teams, DBAs, security and stakeholders, maintain architecture diagrams, migration plans, SOPs and runbooks, and transfer knowledge to operations teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Hands-on experience in on-prem to AWS migration projects.
• Strong understanding of networking (subnets, routing, VPN, Direct Connect).

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch and Route 53
