Business Development Manager, Detection

About the role

The Business Development Manager, Detection reports to the Regional Sales Manager, Asia and drives business growth and stakeholder relationships for the Rest of Asia (ROA) markets. The role works alongside the sales team to get detection products accepted and specified into projects.

Key responsibilities

• Drive overall business development activities for Rest of Asia markets, aligned to corporate growth direction.
• Build relationships with key influencers, identify new opportunities, introduce new products and review them regularly.
• Spearhead basis of design (BOD) and specification (spec-in) work.
• Identify target stakeholders and develop spec-in plans with them, working with regional sales teams and distributors.
• Develop short- and mid-term business strategies for assigned regions and drive new business to meet annual sales targets.
• Train and present to contractors, consultants, owners and distributors, highlighting the value proposition.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional sales or products experience in fire detection and fire alarm systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical engineering.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing strategic relationships.
• Strong regional channel sales experience is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time; onsite position.

Required skills

• Good technical knowledge of fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with Simplex, Zettler and FireClass fire products is an added advantage.
• Business planning with distributors, pipeline management and development.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
