Buyer – Materials Procurement

About the role

As a Buyer at Applied Materials you will be responsible for procuring the materials, supplies, machinery and services that keep our cutting‑edge manufacturing facilities running. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams to ensure a reliable flow of components that enable fast, high‑quality production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain supply continuity to support manufacturing speed and quality.
• Execute pull‑ins and push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, program managers and supplier account managers.
• Drive purchasing activities to obtain the lowest total cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
• Lead inventory and excess & waste reduction initiatives.
• Manage assigned purchasing projects, controlling cost, schedule and scope.
• Handle complex and sensitive information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements and act as a trainer for purchasing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to lead small projects and build consensus.
