Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

As a Buyer at Applied Materials, you will support our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities by procuring materials, supplies, machinery, and services. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless supply continuity and help drive cost‑effective sourcing for our semiconductor and display technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain supply continuity to enable fast, high‑quality manufacturing.
• Follow up on purchase orders, verify deliveries, approve payments, and keep accurate records.
• Adhere to standard purchasing processes and drive timely shipment of parts.
• Resolve shipment, receiving, and billing issues with suppliers.
• Partner with suppliers on demand‑supply collaboration, including pull‑ins and push‑outs to meet MRP demand.
• Support inventory reduction and excess & obsolete (E&Z) initiatives.
• Negotiate purchases and RFQs to achieve the lowest total cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
• Coordinate problem resolution for supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, and program managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–2 years of related procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Understanding of key industry business drivers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information.
