Operations Executive

About the role

The Operations Executive will own the end‑to‑end shipping process, ensuring timely execution of shipments, accurate documentation, and smooth coordination with internal and external partners. This entry‑level position offers on‑the‑job training and exposure to global trade operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of shipping operations, contracts, and documentation with guidance from senior team members.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, allocate contracts, and nominate vessels for fast turnaround.
• Coordinate shipments with suppliers, buyers, shipbrokers, charterers, ship owners/agents, surveyors, insurers, and other stakeholders.
• Liaise with banks on Letters of Credit, negotiate terms, and handle collection documentation.
• Use SAP/ITAS and related systems for invoicing, allocations, and matching.
• Monitor operational matters such as demurrage, dispatch, receivables, payables, and client ageing accounts.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Risk, Finance, Pricing, Chartering and other internal teams to identify and mitigate execution risks.
• Proactively highlight and resolve shipment‑related issues and adhere to company SOPs.
• Support ad‑hoc shipping and operational activities as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• No prior experience required; comprehensive on‑the‑job training will be provided.
• Strong interest in shipping operations, trade documentation and commodity trading.
• Logical, numerate, analytical and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented, able to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable supporting global teams across time zones.
