Commercial Bid Manager - Solar PV and BESS

About the role

Citadel Search is looking for an experienced Commercial Bid Manager to lead tender evaluation, commercial proposal compilation and risk, bond and contractor management for the organisation's Solar PV and BESS portfolio. The role is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Review Requests for Proposal and Requests for Quotation to identify commercial risks, bonding requirements and compliance checklists.
• Advise management on tender opportunities based on financial viability, competition and probability of winning.
• Coordinate with Business Development, Financial Modeling and Procurement to set the optimal bid price and protect profit margins.
• Lead the end-to-end preparation of the commercial bid package and gather corporate documents such as financial data and legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with the commercial criteria set by the tendering authority.
• Work with banks and the Finance team to secure Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds and Letters of Credit.
• Create and maintain a risk matrix covering currency, inflation and political risks per country tender.
• Make sure local partners and subcontractors provide commercial inputs aligned with the master tender submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Quantity Surveying or Engineering with a strong commercial focus.
• Proven experience submitting commercial bids for large infrastructure or utility-scale energy projects.
• Experience with renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
• Strong ability to manage tight deadlines and drive internal stakeholders to deliver on time.
• Clear, persuasive writing and good interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of tender terms such as liquidated damages, liabilities and price escalation formulas.
• Understanding of tariff calculations, Capex/Opex impacts on pricing and currency hedging structures.
