Commodity Buyer (Mandarin/Cantonese) – Mail Division

About the role

The Commodity Buyer will manage supplier relationships for the Mail Division, ensuring that parts and tooling meet Quadient’s quality, cost, logistics and sustainability goals. Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese is required to interact with regional suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement purchasing strategies and maintain project‑specific purchasing plans.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, logistics, service, environmental and CSR criteria.
• Prepare RFQs, negotiate terms, record contracts in ERP and PDM systems, and resolve pricing issues.
• Support prototype development by managing RFQs, monitoring design and tooling progress, and meeting cost‑quality‑schedule targets.
• Monitor supplier performance during serial production, lead cost reviews and conduct business reviews.
• Represent Purchasing in engineering change processes and manage change orders.
• Promote compliance with environmental, health‑safety and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commodity buying or procurement.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese.
