Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

BCS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the NETS Group, manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including FAST, IBG, CTS, and services for PayNow and SGQR. The IT Security Team protects data and mitigates cyber threats in line with regulatory requirements, and the Security Engineering unit advances cybersecurity defense through vulnerability management and security solution design. The Cyber Security Engineer strengthens cyber defence using hands-on experience with Elastic Security (SIEM/ELK stack), covering security monitoring, threat detection, incident investigation and the administration and optimisation of security solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the renewal of the organisation's portfolio of cybersecurity solutions.
• Support staff at the security division in forums and meetings.
• Take part in cybersecurity assurance activities such as VAPT, red teaming and table-top exercises.
• Manage, operate, administer and optimise solutions such as IDS/IPS, email defenses, EPP, DLP, vulnerability management, PAM, IAM/IGA, DAM, proxy and NGFW.
• Handle day-to-day cybersecurity operations for the assigned security solutions.
• Design and implement security solutions end to end, applying a security-by-design approach.
• Operationalise and optimise new cybersecurity solutions as needed.
• Keep security solution documentation up to date.
• Assist with incident response, including containment and recovery.
• Stay current on cybersecurity trends and deliver awareness training within the company.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an information security-related field.
• Experience administering cybersecurity solutions; more than 2 years in cybersecurity operations (on-premises or AWS) preferred.
• Experience in IT infrastructure and project management skills highly preferred.
• Experience with Python or PowerShell is a plus.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of AWS, SaaS for privileged access management (PAM) and identity security.
• Knowledge of firewall rule review.
• Understanding of Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently to project deadlines.

Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate and AWS Certified Security Specialty.
