Cyber Threat Analyst (L1) - SOC

About the role

BCS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) and part of the NETS Group, manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including FAST, IBG, CTS and services for PayNow and SGQR. Its IT Security team protects data and mitigates cyber threats, and the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) provides 24/7 monitoring, threat detection and incident response. As a Cyber Threat (SOC) Analyst you will monitor internal and external sources, detect attacks and anomalies, and evaluate incidents for escalation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the company's information assets 24/7 using cyber defence tools, covering internal and external sources
• Detect, identify and alert on possible attacks, intrusions, anomalous and misuse activities, distinguishing them from benign activity
• Analyse and respond to threats, software and hardware vulnerabilities
• Develop scripts, tune SIEM rules and solutions to automate triage and analysis
• Provide incident response support when required
• Produce actionable threat intelligence from open and commercial sources
• Hunt for indicators of compromise and threat actor TTPs

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an information security-related field
• At least 2 years of experience in a SOC or CERT/CIRT
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, with patterns that may change according to business needs

Required skills

• Interpretation of network tool data (ping, traceroute, nslookup)
• Incident response methodology
• Preferred: OWASP Top 10, CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, DevSecOps
• Preferred: security certifications (GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GCTI, GCFA, GCFE, GNFA) and scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell
