Cybersecurity Intern

About the role

BCS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the NETS Group, manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including FAST, IBG, CTS, and services for PayNow and SGQR. As a cybersecurity intern, you will work on real-world projects and cybersecurity operations, be trained as a cybersecurity practitioner, and be assigned a mentor while rotating through the key functions of the BCS Security Division.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures
• Assist in conducting cyber risk and assessments
• Help monitor cybersecurity metrics and report on them
• Track risk findings, remediation plans and risk acceptance records
• Monitor compliance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements
• Support evidence collection and review for audits, assessments and regulatory inspections
• Take part in control testing and compliance reviews, and coordinate with system owners and stakeholders for audit artefacts
• Track audit findings and remediation progress, and help prepare management responses and closure evidence
• Prepare governance reports, management presentations and status updates, and maintain trackers for security initiatives, audits and remediation

Required profile

• Student currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an information security-related field, or with a confirmed offer
• Prior experience in a security governance or cybersecurity-related internship
• Good communication, writing and presentation skills

Required skills

• Familiarity with the MS Office suite
• Good knowledge of Unix, Linux and/or Windows operating systems
• Keen interest in cybersecurity
