Deputy Director, Land Titles Registry

About the role

The Deputy Director assists the Registrar of Titles and Deeds and the Director, Land Titles Registry in administering the Land Titles Act 1993 and the Land Titles (Strata) Act 1967, and in running a pro-business, modern and effective land registration and public search system.

Key responsibilities

• Review, formulate and implement legislation and policies.
• Supervise the operations of the Land Titles Registry to ensure timely and accurate registration of property transactions, including giving policy guidance on operational issues.
• Lead and run legislative and strategic projects.
• Provide guidance and coaching to staff to support their professional development.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• LL.B. from a recognised university for admission to the Singapore Bar, or admitted to the Singapore Bar.
• At least 8-10 years' legal work experience in conveyancing and other civil matters.
• Familiarity with land law preferred.
• Ability to perform under pressure, manage competing priorities and respond quickly to operational issues.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to inspire and manage a team and work collaboratively across divisions and agencies.

Required skills

• Knowledge of technical legal systems such as Showsuite or AlphaWave, or other in-house legal matters systems, is preferable.
