Deputy Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer (WTE & Integration)

About the role

You will join a project team working closely with the appointed consultant and stakeholders on the Integrated Waste Management Facility Phase 2 (IP2), a large-scale waste-to-energy incineration plant. The role covers technical review, construction oversight, tender and budget support, and leading a technical team during operation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate technical design submissions for mechanical equipment and process systems such as waste handling cranes, incinerators, boilers, steam turbine-generators, flue gas treatment and ash handling.
• Work with the consultant, agencies and authorities to oversee construction and commissioning of IP2.
• Prepare tender documents, call and verify progress payments, and monitor the budget.
• Lead a technical team to ensure safe and efficient operation of the facility once it is operational.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in waste-to-energy facilities preferred; candidates with at least 3 years in mechanical or process design in other fields (waste, water, oil & gas, power) will also be considered.
• Responsible, committed, resourceful and a good team player.
• Good interpersonal communication, presentation and writing skills.
• Able to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays, during commissioning and operation.
• May need to complete a medical declaration and/or further assessment during shortlisting.
