Deputy/Assistant Manager, Bus Service Development

About the role

This Deputy/Assistant Manager position sits within the team responsible for the licensing and regulation of bus services. It covers applications for Bus Service Licences and for the use of bus stops, monitoring of bus service operations and the development of the regulatory framework for bus services.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate applications for Bus Service Licences and for the use of bus stops
• Monitor bus service operations and recommend follow-up actions for non-compliance with licensing conditions
• Review and develop rules, regulations, guidelines and policies so the regulatory framework stays effective and relevant
• Review operational guidelines and procedures to streamline work processes and improve effectiveness
• Work with other government agencies, public and private bus operators, private organisations and community stakeholders, including on the transport of migrant workers
• Handle public feedback on bus services and regulatory matters

Required profile

• At least 2 years of relevant working experience preferred; candidates without relevant experience showing strong potential are welcome to apply
• Able to work with minimal supervision and manage tasks and projects on schedule
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Self-motivated, resourceful and confident in an agile, fast-paced environment
• Team player able to collaborate across teams and agencies

Required skills

• Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess regulatory, licensing and operational issues and make sound recommendations
• Excellent command of English, with the ability to prepare and present clear written, verbal and visual proposals to senior management
