Deputy/Assistant Manager, EV Regulations (Licensing & Operations)

About the role

This Deputy/Assistant Manager position sits within the National Electric Vehicle Centre (NEVC) under LTA's Technology and Industry Development Group. The NEVC promotes EV adoption by regulating and deploying EV charging systems in Singapore. You will help develop and implement regulatory policies and frameworks that ensure the safety, reliability and accessibility of EV charging, including reviewing and administering the licensing regime for EV charging operators.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement monitoring and compliance frameworks so industry stakeholders comply with EV charging regulations and licensing conditions.
• Monitor trends in non-compliance and propose policy and process changes to address root causes and raise compliance rates.
• Introduce technology (for example AI) and tools that streamline work processes and improve productivity.

Required profile

• Knowledge of regulatory policies and licensing frameworks.
• Experience in regulatory policy or operations, such as regulating licensees or use of banned products.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple initiatives running at once.
• Strong writing and presentation skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational needs and recommend efficient use of regulatory resources.
• Collaborative ability across functions and with companies and other government agencies.
• Basic knowledge of electric vehicle charging systems is an advantage.

• Recommendations based on data-driven analysis.
