Director, Global Executive Compensation & Benefits

About the role

Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) is seeking a seasoned HR professional to lead its Global Executive Compensation & Benefits function. Reporting to the Global Head of Executive Compensation & Retention, the Director will shape compensation strategies for senior leaders across multiple countries and ensure alignment with shareholder and board expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain executive compensation strategies, staying current on market, industry, and statutory trends.
• Conduct benchmarking of executive base and variable pay across key geographies, primarily China and Indonesia.
• Prepare and present compensation recommendations to shareholders and the board.
• Draft executive employment offers, contracts, and promotion packages.
• Collaborate with global HR and recruitment teams to align C&B practices with business objectives.
• Lead a small team handling executive payroll, global mobility, and compliance with legal and tax regulations.
• Audit all compensation information requiring shareholder approval.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, with at least 5 years in an HR leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Proven ability to interface with C‑level executives and translate complex data into clear presentations.
• Strong knowledge of executive pay practices, legal and tax regulations, and governance requirements.
