Electrical Engineer - Offshore Oil & Gas

About the role

KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is recruiting multiple Electrical Engineers to support a major upcoming offshore oil and gas project. The roles suit mid-to-senior level engineers with established competence in offshore facilities, especially FPSOs, and cover the full lifecycle of electrical systems from concept through detailed engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure technical integrity and compliance with international standards, project specifications and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with process, instrumentation, mechanical and safety teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in electrical design, energy efficiency and system reliability
• Support vendor selection and technical bid evaluations
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team
• Engage with clients, partners and classification societies to align technical requirements and milestones

Required profile

• Mid-level: 7+ years of experience in electrical design for offshore oil and gas facilities
• Senior/Lead: 15-20+ years of experience with offshore electrical systems, including FPSO projects
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams

Required skills

• Mid-level: strong understanding of MV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers and distribution networks; familiarity with IEC, BSI and other global codes
• Mid-level: experience with SmartPlant/SPEL or similar engineering databases
• Senior: leadership of design teams, expertise in MV (11kV) and LV (690/400V) systems, power management and VFDs, and proven track record in technical bid evaluations and package integration
