Facilities Manager – Healthcare

About the role

The Facilities Manager will lead the engineering and maintenance teams responsible for the operation of healthcare buildings and estates. You will ensure that all facilities are safe, compliant, and delivered to the highest quality standards while supporting clinical services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineers, technicians, supervisors and contractors across assigned sites.
• Plan and approve training, skill development and preventive‑maintenance programmes.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports for clients.
• Coordinate major repairs, new initiatives and tender processes with external agencies.
• Control project costing, budgeting and audit closure.
• Assess contractor performance and certify payments.
• Enforce house rules, safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, complaints and rectification work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of facilities‑management experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Strong leadership, planning and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Pro‑active, able to work independently under pressure.
