Field Applications Engineer - Semiconductor Inspection

About the role

KLA's Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit supplies inspection, metrology and analytics systems to chip manufacturers, covering logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging and process equipment. The Customer Engagement (CE) division is a field-based group of technical experts who partner with customers to support yield improvement from R&D through high-volume production. As a Field Applications Engineer, you will deliver technical applications support for KLA products in customer fabrication facilities, investigate yield issues and provide inspection solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities, investigating semiconductor manufacturing yield issues and offering inspection solutions.
• Maintain presentations on all aspects of the products for KLA management and customer management.
• Assist the sales manager in assessing how products meet customer technical requirements and prepare detailed product specifications.
• Follow up on training customers and share technical information on specific applications.
• Work on complex problems requiring in-depth analysis, experimental design and communication between customers and specialists.
• Gain exposure to Product Marketing and Business and Sales processes.
• Undergo rigorous training on KLA's advanced equipment; travel and work at worldwide facilities and headquarters in Silicon Valley may be possible.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or a related field.
• High energy, self-driven and motivated engineer interested in a high-tech environment.
• Persistence and dedication to solving critical customer problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
