Finance Director – Strategic Finance & Governance

About the role

This senior finance position partners directly with the CFO and senior leadership of an investment holding company. The role drives financial strategy, governance and reporting across the group while supporting key strategic initiatives such as M&A.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, long‑term planning and strategic initiatives.
• Lead group financial control, consolidated reporting, statutory compliance (SFRS/IFRS) and board‑level reporting.
• Oversee treasury and capital management, including cash‑flow forecasting, liquidity, banking relationships and FX exposure.
• Implement robust internal controls, financial policies and delegated authority frameworks.
• Manage tax governance, transfer pricing, cross‑border tax compliance and corporate structuring.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, providing commercial insights to the CFO and Board.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or ICAEW).
• 15+ years of finance experience in established organisations, including at least 4 years in a Big 4 firm.
• Proven track record working with C‑suite, boards and investors.
• Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
