About the role

The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at Nanyang Technological University is seeking an accomplished and visionary scientist to join as a Full Professor (Tenured) in Environment and Society. The role combines interdisciplinary research, teaching, and academic leadership within a vibrant, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a pioneering research programme on environment and society.
• Convene and manage large‑scale collaborative projects at regional and global levels.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses within ASE.
• Mentor graduate students and junior faculty, fostering their development.
• Develop and sustain collaborations across NTU, Singapore, and international institutions.
• Contribute to academic and programmatic leadership within the school.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Currently hold a tenured professorial position (or equivalent) at a university.
• Strong track record of impactful, interdisciplinary research.
• Demonstrated success in securing major research grants.
• Experience supervising graduate students and mentoring junior faculty.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Required skills

• Expertise in environmental governance, political ecology, environmental or ecological economics, risk and resilience in socio‑environmental systems, or coupled human–environment systems.
• Ability to lead and coordinate interdisciplinary research teams.
• Proven teaching experience at the university level.
