Graphics Printhead Process & Proto Engineer

About the role

The SGP Graphics Printhead Engineering team is hiring a Process & Proto Engineer in Singapore. The engineer designs engineering solutions for moderately complex products, creates cost estimates, time standards and operational procedures for new product introductions, and runs proto builds to meet worldwide R&D requirements. Engineers interested in a job rotation should discuss it first with their current supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Design engineering solutions, including methods, operation sequences and processes for manufacturing parts, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
• Develop cost estimates, capacity models, time standards, production layouts and tooling recommendations for new products.
• Create operating procedures, safety protocols and maintenance plans for large-scale manufacturing equipment.
• Assist with issue diagnosis and problem solving, aiming for continuous improvement.
• Work with internal and outsourced manufacturing and development partners on process and standards compliance and issue resolution.
• Represent the manufacturing engineering team across the full lifecycle of complex projects and mentor less experienced staff.

Required profile

• Recommended: four-year or graduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or commensurate experience.
• Typically 4-7 years of experience, preferably in engineering design and solutions, or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of experience.
• Proactive, innovative, independent and self-motivated, able to work under pressure and manage projects independently.

Required skills

• Experience with Power BI and JMP is an advantage.
• Good visualization skills to build real-time dashboards and reports.
