Group Accountant – Team Lead (European MNC)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established European multinational, is seeking a hands‑on Group Accountant to lead core accounting operations, financial reporting and compliance across its global footprint. The role will ensure data integrity while collaborating with regional finance teams and supporting transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts, delivering accurate month‑end and year‑end closes.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Oversee GL, AP, AR and balance‑sheet reconciliations, including intercompany transactions.
• Liaise with regional stakeholders to support intercompany and group reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with GST, WHT, corporate tax filings and other statutory obligations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and finance transformation projects such as system implementations and automation.
• Assist with corporate governance documentation, including board resolutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA/CA or equivalent preferred.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience, ideally Big 4 audit background followed by commercial exposure.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Singapore financial reporting standards and tax compliance.
• Experience with SAP is essential.
• Exposure to transfer pricing and global tax frameworks (e.g., Pillar 2) is advantageous.
• Proven track record handling audits, statutory reporting and regulatory filings.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
