Head of Legal – APAC

About the role

This senior position leads the legal function for the Asia‑Pacific region of a fast‑growing global e‑commerce brand. You will partner with business units and global legal teams to support rapid expansion, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage cross‑border disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end legal and regulatory advice for local operations and regional expansion across APAC.
• Monitor legislative developments, issue compliance guidelines, handle regulatory inquiries and mitigate operational risks.
• Collaborate with international legal teams on cross‑border litigation, regulatory disputes and multi‑jurisdictional matters.
• Guide product launches, services and commercial initiatives with a solutions‑oriented approach.
• Oversee corporate secretarial duties, regulatory filings and deliver internal legal and compliance training.
• Manage the regional legal budget and relationships with external counsel.

Required profile

• 10+ years post‑qualification experience, including time at a reputable law firm and an in‑house legal team.
• Strong background in e‑commerce, digital platforms, fast fashion or consumer‑facing retail.
• Fluency in Mandarin is highly advantageous.
• Hands‑on, agile mindset comfortable in fast‑moving, high‑growth environments.
• Solution‑focused with exceptional judgment in ambiguous situations.
