Head of Strategic Efficiency & Transformation

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Strategic Efficiency & Transformation to lead Group Retail’s agenda, turning enterprise strategy into actionable initiatives that boost financial performance, balance‑sheet efficiency, and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional strategic initiatives to improve profitability, capital efficiency, and long‑term balance‑sheet strength.
• Drive revenue enhancement, margin optimisation, cost productivity and operating leverage across Retail.
• Own and communicate Retail strategy to senior leadership, ensuring clarity and alignment.
• Provide analytical oversight of Retail balance‑sheet dynamics, including assets, liabilities, liquidity and capital.
• Coordinate balance‑sheet optimisation projects such as funding mix, liquidity risk and RWA efficiency.
• Identify structural efficiency opportunities and lead process re‑engineering to enhance productivity.
• Establish performance metrics and tracking mechanisms for strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business; MBA or professional qualifications (CFA, CPA, CA) preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of banking or financial‑services experience with strong exposure to financial strategy, performance management, treasury, capital markets or balance‑sheet management.
• Deep understanding of bank financials, including P&L, balance sheet, capital, liquidity and funding dynamics.
• Proven track record of leading enterprise‑level strategic initiatives delivering clear financial or productivity outcomes.
• Excellent senior stakeholder management and executive‑level communication skills.
