International Trade and Sanctions Associate

About the role

We are seeking an International Trade and Sanctions Associate to join the International Trade and Sanctions practice of a leading international law firm in Singapore. The successful candidate will work closely with partners to advise multinational corporations, financial institutions and global organisations on cross‑border trade, sanctions, export controls and regulatory compliance matters across the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on international trade, economic sanctions, export controls, customs and trade compliance.
• Draft and review contracts, policies, and regulatory filings for multinational clients.
• Manage matters end‑to‑end, liaising directly with clients in a fast‑paced environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross‑border teams on complex mandates.
• Stay up‑to‑date with evolving trade and sanctions regulations in the Asia‑Pacific.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year post‑qualification experience (PQE) at a leading international or top‑tier law firm.
• Demonstrated experience advising on international trade, sanctions, export controls or related regulatory matters.
• Strong analytical, drafting and communication abilities.
• Commercially minded with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
