Job Ambassador, CS CDC

About the role

The Job Ambassador manages the engagement of resident jobseekers and coordinates the onboarding of community employers into the Jobs Nearby @ CDC scheme. The role connects residents through localised workforce development and job matching initiatives across Community Development Councils (CDCs) and Community Committees (CCs).

Key responsibilities

• Engage resident jobseekers and onboard community employers to the Jobs Nearby @ CDC scheme.
• Provide personalised guidance to jobseekers, helping them set up digital profiles, upload documents and use job portals.
• Coordinate with employers (SMEs, neighbourhood businesses, community-based employers) and vendors on profile creation, listing management and job portal use.
• Facilitate connections between jobseekers and employers, including on-the-spot interviews.
• Monitor jobseekers' progress and outcomes, follow up regularly and review service delivery to improve the experience.
• Expand employer networks and organise or take part in job fairs, learning festivals and outreach activities.
• Track and report data on registrations, employer sign-ups and success stories for monitoring and evaluation.
• Guide new Job Ambassadors during onboarding.

Required profile

• Knowledge of outreach, career and skills advisory, community engagement, HR/recruitment or workforce development.
• Second language (e.g. Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or dialects) to engage diverse residents.
• Good interpersonal communication and ability to handle enquiries with basic knowledge of job market trends and workforce policies.
• Ability to work independently across community locations and travel frequently within the district.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, and ability to carry out outdoor engagement and outreach.
• Proactive, persuasive and resourceful.
