Legal & Claims Executive

About the role

The Legal & Claims Executive provides essential support to the Chief Legal Officer, overseeing legal documentation, contract administration, and the full lifecycle of cargo and logistics claims. The role ensures accurate corporate records, compliance with KYC/AML requirements, and effective coordination with internal teams, insurers, brokers, and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and proofread contracts and routine legal requests.
• Support due‑diligence activities and maintain a contract repository with key dates.
• Handle cargo, freight and logistics claims from notification to closure, maintaining a claims register.
• Gather and organise claim documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, survey reports and photographs.
• Liaise with insurers, brokers, surveyors, loss adjusters and P&I clubs on claim progress.
• Conduct first‑level liability assessments and escalate complex claims.
• Assist with recovery, sub‑rogation actions and time‑bar monitoring.
• Provide administrative support for legal, compliance and corporate secretarial matters, including KYC/AML documentation.
• Help prepare board and shareholder resolutions, minutes and governance documents.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple legal and claims files.
• Excellent written communication skills for drafting and proofreading documents.
• Experience working with insurers, brokers, and external legal parties.
• Understanding of KYC/AML requirements and corporate governance processes.
