Legal Counsel – Assistant Director (Singapore)

About the role

EY is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join the General Counsel’s Office in Singapore. Reporting to the Singapore General Counsel, you will provide commercial and regulatory legal support across EY’s service lines, helping the firm deliver innovative solutions while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of engagement contracts and commercial agreements with clients.
• Provide practical, commercially‑focused advice on data privacy, intellectual property, IT licensing and other legal matters.
• Identify and advise on legal and regulatory risks associated with professional services delivery.
• Collaborate with business teams to support contract‑related queries and escalations.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by senior legal leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law or a J.D. from a common‑law jurisdiction.
• 5–7 years of corporate legal experience, combining private‑practice and in‑house roles; multinational experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to translate complex legal issues for non‑legal stakeholders.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with a track record of managing diverse legal matters.
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Comfortable with hybrid/remote working arrangements.
