Legal Counsel – Banking Regulatory (5 to 10 PQE)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel with 5‑10 years of post‑qualification experience to join a fast‑growing fintech group. The role focuses on banking and financial services regulatory matters across Singapore and the wider region, supporting product launches, partnerships and regional expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the business on a broad range of financial services and fintech regulatory matters, including licensing, conduct requirements and new product launches.
• Provide legal advice on banking and financial services regulations, working closely with Compliance, Risk and business stakeholders on interactions with MAS and other regulators.
• Support the structuring and roll‑out of new products, partnerships and commercial initiatives across the region.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as technology, platform, payments, outsourcing and partnership arrangements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on existing and proposed business activities.
• Assist regional expansion by coordinating with local counsel on licensing and regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions.
• Provide legal support on corporate, governance and general commercial matters as required.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years' post‑qualification experience (PQE) with a recognised legal qualification.
• Strong experience in banking, financial services or fintech regulatory work, preferably with exposure to MAS requirements.
• Background in leading law firms, banks, payment companies, fintech businesses or other regulated financial institutions.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and able to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable advice.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment and engaging directly with senior business stakeholders.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Singapore financial regulatory framework and MAS requirements.
• Experience with payments, digital banking, lending, stored‑value, technology platforms or regulated fintech products.
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills.
