Legal Counsel - Energy Industry (3-5 Years PQE)

About the role

A renowned energy company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team in Singapore. The role offers broad exposure across commercial, corporate, regulatory and compliance matters, and suits a legal counsel with general corporate experience who wants to move into the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support across the company's commercial and corporate activities, handling corporate matters independently and working with senior team members on more complex ones
• Draft and negotiate corporate, procurement, IT/SaaS, consulting, services, confidentiality and other commercial agreements
• Support derivatives documentation, KYC and counterparty onboarding, credit support documentation and contract management
• Advise on governance, regulatory and compliance matters including sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, data protection and competition law
• Coordinate with external counsel where required

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in Singapore or the UK, with experience in private practice and/or an in-house legal role
• 3-5 years of professional experience
• Experience in the energy, oil & gas or commodities sectors is advantageous

Required skills

• Strong corporate and commercial contracts experience
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts in English
