Legal Counsel (Generalist – Corporate / Contract Law)

About the role

Join the Legal Division of a well‑established Singapore Statutory Board as a Generalist Legal Counsel. You will provide comprehensive legal advice across corporate and contract matters, supporting senior management and internal stakeholders on policy and day‑to‑day legal issues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement policies and actions.
• Draft regulatory instruments, including legislation and subsidiary legislation.
• Provide legal advice and interpretation on relevant Singapore legislation and other applicable laws.
• Draft, review, and advise on a wide range of commercial documents such as tender documents, MOUs, tenancy agreements, and other contracts.
• Develop internal legal processes, maintain a repository of legal advice, and create guidance materials.
• Advise on and manage potentially contentious matters, liaising with external counsel as needed.
• Undertake additional legal tasks and projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Law degree and called to the Singapore Bar (or other Commonwealth jurisdiction).
• At least 4 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Corporate/contract law experience is an advantage.
• Prior in‑house experience with a Statutory Board or government agency preferred.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
