Legal Counsel (Prosecution)

About the role

The Legal division of the Land Transport Authority provides legal services to its divisions on land transport matters, including road traffic regulation, autonomous vehicles, active mobility, point-to-point passenger transport and electric vehicle infrastructure. As Legal Counsel (Prosecution), you will prosecute statutory offences under the Land Transport Authority's purview.

Key responsibilities

• Prosecute statutory offences under a wide range of Acts and subsidiary legislation, such as the Road Traffic Act, Parking Places Act, Street Works Act, Active Mobility Act, Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) Act and Electric Vehicle Charging Act.
• Receive training in advocacy, court craft, criminal procedure and evidence.
• Provide legal support and advice to enforcement and investigation divisions within the Land Transport Authority.
• Liaise with the Attorney-General's Chambers, the State Courts and the Singapore Police Force.
• Anticipate and address the legal implications of emerging and disruptive technologies in the matters handled by the Division.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Law.
• Qualified person under the Legal Profession Act or called to the Singapore Bar.
• Proactive, solution and service-oriented mindset; positive, self-motivated, willing to learn, collaborative and a team player.
