Legal Counsel – Southeast Asia

About the role

As Legal Counsel for AECOM’s Southeast Asia office, you will provide legal and strategic support across multiple jurisdictions, helping the business manage risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver infrastructure, engineering and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, regulatory matters, corporate governance and dispute resolution across SEA jurisdictions.
• Draft, review and negotiate consultancy agreements, joint venture and procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.
• Manage pre‑litigation and litigation matters, coordinate external counsel and develop dispute‑resolution strategies.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes in SEA countries, conduct compliance training and advise on operational impact.
• Support corporate secretarial duties, maintain statutory records, filings and board activities for SEA entities.
• Identify legal risks in projects and business strategies, offering practical solutions to mitigate them.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with significant experience in commercial and infrastructure law within Southeast Asia.
• Strong understanding of regional regulatory frameworks and corporate governance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex contracts and dispute‑resolution processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with business leaders.
