Legal Counsel, Southeast Asia

About the role

As Legal Counsel for AECOM’s Southeast Asia office, you will provide strategic legal support across multiple jurisdictions, helping the business navigate complex regulatory environments and deliver large‑scale infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Offer legal advice on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and dispute resolution for SEA operations.
• Draft, review and negotiate consultancy agreements, joint‑venture contracts and procurement documents.
• Manage pre‑litigation and litigation matters, coordinate external counsel and develop resolution strategies.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes across SEA countries and conduct compliance training.
• Support corporate secretarial duties, maintain statutory records and assist with board activities.
• Identify legal risks in projects and business strategies, proposing practical mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with strong experience in Southeast Asian jurisdictions.
• Proactive, solutions‑oriented approach with the ability to work closely with business leaders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage external counsel and lead compliance initiatives.
