Legal Director – Financial Lines Insurance

About the role

Kennedys Legal Solutions is seeking a senior Legal Director to provide sophisticated coverage advice on financial lines insurance risks across the APAC region. The role is client‑facing, involves significant business development, and requires international travel to support insurers, London syndicates and other global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on complex coverage matters including directors’ and officers’, professional indemnity, crime/BBB, W&I, POSI, IMI and cyber policies.
• Monitor and manage commercial disputes, arbitrations and, where required, cyber‑incident response.
• Handle subrogated recoveries and cross‑jurisdictional claims.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, driving business development initiatives.
• Mentor junior team members and deliver internal and external training seminars.
• Produce and present thought‑leadership pieces to local and international audiences.
• Collaborate with colleagues in APAC, EMEA and the US on client projects.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in financial lines insurance.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively manage matters.
• Strong client‑facing skills and a track record of business development.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Experience mentoring junior lawyers and delivering training.
