Legal Executive (Prosecution)

About the role

The Health Sciences Authority's Legal Department is looking for a Legal Executive (Prosecution) to support its legal and prosecution functions. The role involves supporting legal counsel, preparing prosecution and court matters, and conducting regulatory prosecutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide paralegal, legal research and administrative support to legal counsel.
• Assist legal counsel with the preparation and management of prosecution and court-related matters.
• Conduct regulatory prosecutions on behalf of the agency in the State Courts and Youth Courts, including attending court and handling case preparation and follow-up.
• Provide backend and operational support for Night Court matters, held once a week.
• Assist with legal research, drafting, case management and other matters undertaken by the Legal Department as required.

Required profile

• A law or communications-related background is preferred.
• Prior experience as a paralegal in private practice or a legal executive in the public sector is advantageous.
• Previous experience attending court or assisting with court proceedings is valued.
• Good organisation, communication, legal research and drafting skills.
• Able to work independently, exercise good judgement and work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced legal and regulatory environment involving court proceedings and prosecution work.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

What we offer
