Legal Regulatory Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Regulatory Counsel to join our global legal team and support the rapid expansion of our internet‑focused business outside of China. You will work closely with product and business groups to identify regulatory risks, shape compliance strategies, and ensure our services meet local requirements across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business units to understand product mechanics, flag regulatory and compliance risks, and deliver practical legal advice.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments in key global markets and assess their impact on products and operations.
• Develop and implement compliance frameworks, policies, processes, and training programmes tailored to specific markets and product lines.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to manage regulatory inquiries, reviews, investigations, and contribute a regulatory perspective to product launches and market expansions.

Required profile

• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a common‑law jurisdiction such as Hong Kong, Singapore, or a comparable jurisdiction.
• Background in regulatory compliance gained in‑house at a technology or internet company, at a law firm advising tech clients, or within a government regulatory body.
• Strong product sense and curiosity about the internet and technology industry, with the ability to quickly grasp product mechanics and translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.
• Proactive, self‑driven work style with the capacity to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.
