Manager, Asset Engineering (Power & Services)

About the role

The Manager, Asset Engineering (Power & Services) manages a team and ensures that rail assets are safe, reliable, maintainable and available throughout their lifecycle. The role combines asset management, maintenance management, safety and operational performance oversight, and works closely with the Rail Operators so that their O&M experience feeds back into LTA's design divisions to improve the design of Singapore's Rail Transit System lines.

Key responsibilities

• Review the design of medium voltage power systems, railway traction power systems (3rd rail and overhead catenary systems), low voltage reticulation schemes and investigate incidents.
• Provide engineering support by witnessing the testing, commissioning and handover of new assets to the Rail Operators.
• Monitor asset condition, reliability and performance, and manage asset obsolescence and spare-part strategies.
• Develop ground knowledge of O&M issues so that Rail Operators' experience can be used to improve the design of RTS lines for operational flexibility and maintainability.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in design, installation, operation and maintenance of services and electrical installations up to and including 22kV, 1500V DC and 750V DC traction power supply systems and 400/230V reticulation systems.
• Knowledge of the railway work environment and relevant safety requirements.
• Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
