Manager, Research Strategy & Operations

About the role

The Research Centre for Residue and Toxic Industrial Waste Management (TREASURES) at NTU is looking for a Manager of Research Strategy & Operations. Reporting to the Centre Directors, you will bridge academic research and industry, overseeing the full research lifecycle across multiple multidisciplinary nodes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate programme activities across four research nodes, monitoring technical milestones, schedules and budgets.
• Lead grant management, including preparation of progress reports for NEA, handling variations, claims and compliance audits.
• Act as primary liaison with industry partners to define problem statements and translate laboratory innovations into pilot trials.
• Oversee administrative, financial and HR functions of the centre, supervising support staff.
• Ensure compliance with research regulations and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• PhD in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in research management or R&D operations.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality technical grant reports and proposals.
• Strong interpersonal skills for managing stakeholders from government, industry and academia.
