Manager, Volunteer & AAC Capability Development (1 Year Contract)
sggovterp · Health Promotion Board
Job description
About the role
The Health Promotion Board's Healthy Ageing Programmes aims to help seniors lead healthier, longer lives through healthy lifestyle practices and social connectedness. As a key member of the team, you will support the development and implementation of senior volunteer capability and implementation plans for Active Ageing Programmes (AAPs) in the community, working with partners to build the capacity of Active Ageing Centres (AACs) to run their own physical activity initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Work with partners to develop and operationalise volunteer opportunities that enable seniors to carry out community-based AAPs across AACs nationwide, and help AACs independently design, implement and sustain physical activity initiatives.
- Support the development of practical training curriculum, learning resources and implementation guides so senior volunteers can support low-barrier activities such as brisk walking and simple exercise workouts, tailored to diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Collaborate with AACs, local Institutes of Higher Learning and Regional Health Clusters to co-develop volunteer opportunities and identify future capability needs and implementation models.
- Translate policy intent into practical volunteer opportunities and enable AACs and community partners to design and sustain their own physical activity programmes.
Required profile
- At least 3-5 years of experience in programme development and implementation, and in learning and development.
- Prior experience with senior populations or in health, social or community care is preferred.
- Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Human Resources, Education, Psychology or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Experience in community engagement, volunteer management and working with vendors is an advantage.
Required skills
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles applied to volunteer capability building for seniors.
- Strong collaborative and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear written and oral communication with seniors, community partners and government stakeholders.
Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract.
