Manufacturing Design Engineer (eBeam - Electron Optics)

About the role

KLA is hiring a Manufacturing Design Engineer for its eBeam electron optics business in Singapore. The role sits within the Global Operations (GOPS) team, which works with manufacturing, supply chain, design engineering and quality teams to build better, faster and more cost-efficient solutions. You will deliver high-impact work on manufacturing processes for high-precision electron optics systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, assembly methods, alignment procedures and test methodologies for high-precision electron optics systems.
• Work with Operations, Design Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to resolve system-level manufacturing and product performance issues.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for yield, reliability, performance and manufacturability issues using data-driven methods.
• Identify manufacturing risks early in product development and drive mitigation plans through design reviews, process validation and production readiness activities.
• Analyze data and/or use modeling to drive process, specification and design improvements.
• Set up complex project plans across multiple disciplines and drive them to completion.
• Partner with suppliers and external manufacturing partners to develop and qualify critical components, processes and technologies.
• Travel up to 15%.

Required profile

• Master's or doctorate in Physics, electron optics or related fields; entry-level doctorate candidates with strong relevant knowledge and/or hands-on instrument experience are welcomed.
• Minimum qualification: doctorate, master's degree or 2 years of work experience, or bachelor's degree or 3 years of work experience.
• Preferred: experience with electron optics and high voltage for scanning electron microscopes.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for technical issues, experiment setup, modeling and data analysis.
• Ability to champion technical solutions to manufacturability issues arising from design.
• Ability to give effective technical presentations up to divisional level.
