Manufacturing Design Engineer (ME)

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is hiring a Manufacturing Design Engineer in Singapore. The role covers optomechanical assemblies, alignment processes and electro-mechanical systems, with expected travel of up to 25% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Set up experiments and perform data analysis and root cause analysis
• Diagnose system issues by reading mechanical drawings and using precision testing and measuring instruments
• Support technical issues with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering with at least 5-6 years of experience, or a Doctorate in mechanical engineering with at least 4 years of experience
• Experience in the semiconductor equipment industry or manufacturing is preferred
• Team player with good writing and verbal communication skills
• Expected to travel up to 25% of the time

Required skills

• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals: design principles, materials and fabrication methods
• Proficiency with CAD, Creo/SolidWorks
• Optomechanical assemblies, alignment processes and tolerance control to meet required degrees of freedom
• Controls systems, sensors and pneumatics in electro-mechanical stages
• Vibration, stiffness and thermal effects
• GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis and error budgeting
