Marketing Analyst – Iron Ore Pricing

About the role

We are looking for a Marketing Analyst to develop pricing models and rationales for global iron ore sales. You will support pricing and marketing plans through market analysis, competitor monitoring, and industry trend evaluation, providing insights that drive business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain pricing models, databases, and monitoring systems for iron ore market data, pricing trends, and competitor strategies.
• Contribute to Vale’s iron ore pricing policy, reviewing changes, special conditions, and providing pricing guidance for project evaluations.
• Ensure consistent implementation of pricing strategies across contracts through clear communication and appropriate approvals.
• Align product pricing strategies with marketing, sales, value‑chain, and production teams.
• Support customer segmentation analysis for current and prospective customers.
• Monitor and support execution of the area budget and respond to performance deviations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, International Trading or a related discipline (post‑graduate or MBA is a plus).
• Solid understanding of the global iron ore industry and commodity pricing.
• Relevant experience in pricing analysis, pricing models and pricing mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with the capacity to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to challenge assumptions, identify risks and propose data‑driven opportunities.
